Educational programs
Batumi Archaeological Museum offers educational programs for the 2017-2018 academic year. This booklet gives you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the content of each program and choose the program you want.
The purpose of each program is, on the one hand, to increase the interest of students in museum activities, to involve them in the protection and promotion of cultural heritage, and on the other hand, through educational projects focused on children of different age groups, to expand the audience of museum visitors, to activate and improve museum life, and to turn it into an action of the region as a cultural and educational center. Through the implementation of the educational program, the students-young people will be involved in the projects which will deepen their theoretical knowledge in history and archeology, get additional information, acquire new ideas, develop practical skills for field work; Educational programs will increase students' activity in the teaching process and develop their research skills; It will interest the future generations in the historical past of the country, will help students to clearly perceive, fully and vividly understand the individual stages of Georgian history, Georgian culture of different eras, will strengthen their sense of national pride and help them perceive themselves as bearers of the cultural heritage of a nation with ancient history and great traditional values;
The programs are integrated, which will allow students not only to better study the history of their own country, but also to learn about its connection with other scientific disciplines and deepen their knowledge in all subjects.
The number of participants in the programs varies on its specifics. The minimum number of participating children is 8, the maximum is 25.

Fun archeology for kids
The purpose of the program is to get acquainted with the path taken from the acquisition of the item to its placement in the exhibition hall.
In a specially allocated museum space, where a simulated archaeological field is set up, young students, under the guidance of a museum representative, will practically go through all the stages of archaeological work: they will find an artifact, fix and process this item, make a field diary necessary for an archaeologist, etc.
The program is intended for: V-XI class students.
Program duration: 60–90 minutes.
Time of holding: by prior arrangement
Venue: Children's Archeology Room of the Archaeological Museum.
