About the collection

  • Industry developed rapidly in Batumi in the 1980s. The rise of industry led to the discovery of large oil fields on the Absheron Peninsula near Baku, and the shortest way to export this oil to the world was Batumi. And so, there was founded oil tycoons: Rotschild, Nobels and Mantashev in Batumi, whose enterprises mainly produced oil bidon and used them to transport oil abroad.
