Gurji-Khatun in numismatics and literature

About the program

The 13th century Seljuk coin with the image of a lion and the sun preserved in the museum can be said to be a peculiar numismatic novel, a metal "book", which tells the love story of the daughter of Rusudan Tamar , known as Gurji-Khatun. The same story is told by D. Turashvili's in the novel "Gurji-Khatun". Together, both are ideal material to interest the student .The lesson is integrated, along with numismatics, it involves the involvement of specialists of history and Georgian literature.
