Gabriel Schachinger (1850-1912) - Bavarian royal court painter. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 1876-78 he studied in Italy funded by the Bavarian government. He worked in the genre of portrait, still life, created genre compositions. His the most famous painting, is the portrait of the king Ludwig II of Bavaria, painted in 1887. A young woman sitting in an armchair is depicted in a three-quarter view and looking with her expressive gaze. The model is wearing a dark blue draped dress with white lace.
