About the collection

   Alexander Tsimakuridze - One of the founders of Georgian landscape painting. He studied at Moscow Painting, Sculpture and Architecture School in 1906 -15, was a student of famous Russian artists - Viktor Vasnetsov and Nikolai Kasatkin.  

  “Country Estate” - A. Tsimakuridze's favorite theme was the picturesque landscapes of Kartli - Kvishkheti and Borjomi gorge. Artist mostly painted the bright, idyllic atmosphere of sunny afternoon. Immediacy of perception, bright colors, free manner of painting are characteristics of his works.
