About the collection

Dato Korkia - Painting, graphics. Studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts (speciality-painting) at Tbilisi Academy of Arts at the studio of the Prominent artist Givi Agapishvili (1990-92) and at the American Academy of Paris (1993-96). He works in the genre of portrait, landscape, creates abstract and conceptual compositions. The represented picture shows the yard of the Tbilisi Writers' House - this cozy, sunlit, environment creates an idyllic mood. This impression is more visible by the young woman in the foreground, who rests on the table with her head bent, eyes shut and absorbed in her own thoughts, the purple flowers around her, bring a subtle colour accent. Refined drawing, soft light-shadow modeling gives the composition an aesthetic expression.
