David Kakabadze - A Great Georgian modernist, painter, graphic artist, theater decorator, cinema artist, inventor and art theorist. Studied at the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics at Saint Petersburg University. At the same time, he attended painting classes at the studio of Dmitroyev-Kavkazsky (1910 – 15). He lived and worked in Paris (1919-1927),where he created original cubist, abstract and constructive-decorative compositions. He participated in international exhibitions of modernist art in Paris, Brussels, New York and other cities. The presented work is one of this famous series, on which the bank of the river Seine, Notre-Dame and the arched bridge are depicted.
