Elene Akhvlediani – A Painter, graphic artist, theater decorator and cinema artist. One of the important representatives of new Georgian painting. People's Artist of Georgia, Laureate of Shota Rustaveli State Prize. She studied at Tbilisi State Academy of Art in 1922, was a student of the prominent artist, Gigo Gabashvili. After that she studied at Paris Académie Colarossi in 1922-27. Here she participated in exhibitions of “Independents” Salon. Elene Akhvlediani’s artistic credo is fully reflected in her landscape painting. She is a prominent representative of so-called “The landscape of Mood”. Elene Akhvlediani's widely seen intimate landscapes are characterized by diversity of aspects of nature perception, poeticism, exquisite colors.
