Fyodor Bronnikov (1827-1902) – In 1845-53 studied at the St. Petersburg Academy Arts. In 1853, he received a gold medal and the title of first-class artist. In 1854-59 he lived and worked in Rome. Fyodor Bronikov was a great master of portrait painting and professor of historical painting at the Academy of Arts. The picture shows a portrait of a woman playing the mandolin and wearing a red wide-brimmed hat adorned with ostrich feather.
