Lado Gudiashvili - A Painter, graphic artist, illustrator, theater decorator, cinema artist, monumentalist. People’s artist of Georgia. Laureate of Shota Rustaveli State Prize. He studied at Tbilisi School of Fine Arts, Painting and Sculpture in 1910-14. He participated in Tao-Klarjeti expedition by Ekvtime Takhaishvili in 1917, where he took copies of old Georgian frescoes. He lived and worked in Paris in 1919-26, studied at Ronson’s “Free Academy”. His works include, on the one hand, scenes from the bohemian life of old Tbilisi, on the other hand, legends and historical stories inspired by Georgia's past. He created idealized portraits of modern people.
