About the collection

Maya Chkonia – A Graphic artist, painter. Studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts (speciality- graphics) at Tbilisi Academy of Arts, at the studio of prominent artists Dimitri Eristavi and Loreta Shengelia-Abashidze (1981-87). She works in the genre of landscape and still life, creates thematic compositions. The picture shows the view of Batumi beach in the evening. The diagonally oriented railings of the wide terrace create a peculiar dynamism of the composition. An united blue gamut, the space seen from above, Batumi Bay and the illuminated distant ship give the work a lyrical mood.
