Mose Toidze - One of the founders of new Georgian painting. People's Artist (1953). Studied at Ilia Repin studio at Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts and then at famous Russian masters Lev Dmitriev-Kavkazsky and Philip Maliavin studio (1896 – 1901). Mose Toidze fruitfully worked in almost all fields of fine arts. He painted landscapes, still lifes, portraits. The presented composition belongs to the early period of the artist's creation. The picture shows a hall-type interior with arches and railing. There are four seated figures of women dressed in national clothes on the colorful carpet laid on the pavement, and the silhouette of a man with a walking stick to the right. The work is characterized by refined colours and peculiar decorativeness.
