About the collection

Mose Toidze - One of the founders  of  new Georgian painting. People's Artist. He studied at Ilia Repin studio at Saint Petersburg Academy of Arts and  then at famous Russian masters Lev Dmitriev-Kavkazsky and Philip Maliavin studio in 1896 – 1901. Mose Toidze fruitfully  worked  in almost all fields of fine arts. He painted landscapes, still lifes, portraits.

 “Tamar Toidze’s Portrait” (the portrait of artist's niece) is distinguished by its lyrical character and exquisite color.
