Nikoloz (Koka) Ignatov - A Scenographer, monumentalist, painter, graphic artist. One of the important representatives of Georgian painting of the second half of the XX century. People's Artist of Georgia, Laureate of Shota Rustaveli State Prize. He studied at the Faculty of Painting at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1956-62 under the guidance of prominent artists Vasili Shukhaev, Sergo Kobuladze and Parnaoz Lapiashvili.The large painting “At the Artist's Studio”, preserved at the museum is distinguished by figurativeness, stylization and emphasized decorativeness, typical for the author. Here the principles of easel painting and wall painting are organically combined. There are realistically painted easel, palette, paint jars and other art inventory in the foreground. There are generalized scenes, which depict different parts of Georgia, monuments of material culture, people's life and folkloric motives in the background. All these together creates an original storytelling on the theme of human, nature and homeland.
