About the collection

Elene Akhvlediani A Painter, graphic artist, theater decorator and cinema artist. One of the important representatives of  new Georgian painting. People's Artist of Georgia (1960), Laureate of Shota Rustaveli State Prize (1971). Studied at Tbilisi State Academy of Arts (1922), was a student of the prominent artist, Gigo Gabashvili. She also studied at Paris Académie Colarossi (1922-27). Here she participated in exhibitions of  “Independents” Salon. Elene Akhvlediani’s artistic credo is fully reflected in her landscape painting. She is a prominent representative of so-called  “The landscape of Mood”. Akhvlediani's widely seen intimate landscapes are characterized by diversity of aspects of nature perception, poeticism, exquisite colors. The picture shows one of the picturesque streets of the historical center of Prague with typical colorful houses and the walking people, which enliven the landscape.
