About the collection

Rusudan Petviashvili – A Painter, graphic artist, illustrator. Graduated from the Faculty of Easel Graphics at Tbilisi Academy of Arts (1991). Rusudan Petviashvili is listed in “2000 Famous Persons of XX Century”, the book published by the Cambridge Biographical Centre. With the blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II, the artist was  creating the miniatures for the Gospel of Matthew for three years. The Gospel is made on parchment and is preserved at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Tbilisi.

The compositional structure, architectonics and internal rhythm of R. Petviashvili’s multi-figure pictures are compact and dynamic. The refined colourful gamut, the plastic expressiveness of the line gives the painting "Regret" an unique look, typical for the author, in which the her mythical world  is depicted.
