Tamar Abakelia – A Sculptor, graphic artist, theater decorator and cinema artist, illustrator. One of the prominent representatives of Georgian painting of the 20th century. Studied at Tbilisi Academy of Arts under the guidance of the prominent sculptors Jacob Nikoladze and Nikoloz Kandelaki (1923-29). T. Abakelia studied Georgian national dress, Georgian faces with great interest. One example of this, is her graphic picture "Ajarian Woman", which depicts a sitting woman dressed in a traditional costume. The artist created a variety of academic manner works, based on the rich ethnographic and historical material.
