Vera Paghava - Landscape (paper/water-colour.32X33.1962)

About the collection

Vera Pagava - Painter, graphic artist, decorator. One of the prominent representatives of the Parisian avant-garde of the post-war generation. She was born in Tbilisi. She worked in France from 1923, where she spent her whole life. Studied at the Ronson Academy (1932-39). Since the 1950s, in the process of forming her own artistic form, V. Pagava reached lyrical abstraction. "Balance, meditation and silence in the restlessness and anxiety of the modern world" - this is the creative belief of the artist. The represented refined landscape, which is painted in transitional pristine tones, depicts not so much a specific object but the surrounding space and light, which creates an illusion of infinity.
