About the collection

The museum's relatively new exhibition includes a section dedicated to irons, featuring charcoal, cast iron, modern electric irons and irons from different centuries. It is known that in ancient times, high temperatures were used to remove creases from fabrics. The irons used in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries were similar to the modern form: it was a cast-iron device that was heated in a normal oven It was heated. As it lost heat quickly, it had to be constantly reheated.
