Machine for making corks for metal containers

About the collection

The museum presents various technical devices used by the Nobel Brothers in the oil industry in the 19th and 20th centuries. One is a mechanical machine for making corks on the oil export canisters, which is set in motion manually. The mechanical device in the photo was developed by Ludwig Nobel. The valves for canisters were produced on a mechanical machine. It cuts corks with a specific diameter. These corks reliably sealed tin canisters into which car oils, kerosene, and various lubricants were poured. The exhibit is still in good condition.
