It was important as transporting by sea liquid and dry raw materials as river transport, which was due to the adaptation of their specific form to specific conditions. The origin of the amphora, a vessel with two handles, is linked to the ancient East, Canaan, from where its form was taken by the Greeks through the Egyptians, perfected, and spread throughout the ancient world.
