The Nature Department of Khariton Akhvlediani Museum Presents:

The Nature Exhibit is a remarkable site in the Adjara Museum. The first exhibit of the museum was also in honor of Natural Heritage . An assorted set of exhibits has been collected, brought on, stored  and showcased during this terrific span of  110 years and counting.

        The exhibition of the Department of Nature presents the following geological collections: sediments collected of aquatic  or continental origin ; Samples of volcanic rocks, minerals, paleontological materials and minerals.

A sample of a 130 m.  limestone  is the oldest exhibit dating back  to the Upper Cretaceous Period. The exhibits of the fossilized forest in Goderdzi listed under the IUCN Red Data Book is as enchanting ;The display boasts  a fossilized giant grape vine, as well as a sample of a giant opal brought from the Arsiani ridge, a by- product of volcanic eruption that happened around 15 million years ago. These exhibit showcase would be a complement to  any museum in the world. The museum also has a spectacular display of  Adjarian mineral and soil samples.

      Moreover the museum has collection of Georgian crystals, minerals from Germany (brought in 1924), minerals from Russia, etc.
