About the program

History of Batumi

Based on the recent historical past of Adjara, we will introduce the participants to the history of Ottoman rule for three years and its consequences. We will talk about the return of Adjara to its motherland. As well as the history of the establishment of Batumi as the capital of Adjara, the process of granting the status of a self-governing city and turning it into a European city in general.

You will hear interesting information about the development of the city, the construction of the first school, gymnasium, hospital, and theater, the history of the boulevard, and information about the people who made Batumi an attractive and interesting city for tourists today.

The program is designed for V-XII, grade students.

Program Duration: 50-60 minutes.
