Iron Theater poster "You can’t see what you have seen" 1905.

About the collection

  •               "Iron Theater" was located on Baratashvili Street in Batumi on the site of today's circus building. It was a large warehouse with peace of work of iron. Its owner was a Belgian merchant Marsho. In 1891, Russian manager Tomsky arrived in Batumi with his troupe of actors. He rented this building and arranged a fairly extensive club with 900 seats. For 3 months he led the performances of his troupe. After that, the building was also rented by lawyer Jurkevich, who opened the so-called "Iron Theater”. Performances were performed here by Batumi stage lovers and actors. World choreography star Isadora Duncan danced on the stage of the Iron Theater.
