About the collection

  • On May 15, 1918, part of the Adjara intelligence, persecuted by the Ottomans, formed the "Committee for the Liberation of Muslim Georgia" in Tbilisi. Memed Abashidze was elected as the chairman of the committee. Haidar Abashidze was elected as the deputy. Kadir Shervashidze, Suleiman Diasamidze, Khasan Tkhilaishvili, Zia Abashidze and others are members. Kadir Shervashidze and Haidar Abashidze signed the Act of Independence of Georgia on May 26, 1918.
