About the collection

In 622, Muhammad and his followers emigrated to Yasrib (Medina). This date - "Hijra" is considered to be the beginning of the Muslim calendar. Islam became the main religion of the Arabs. The Holy Book of Islam is the the Koran. It includes sermons delivered by Muhammad during his prophetic inspiration (610-632 in Mecca and Medina). Written in Arabic. Consists of 114 suras (CHAPTER).  For Muslims, the Koran prescribes a way of life.
