• Lao Jin Jao, a 23-year-old Chinese tea specialist, arrived in Adjara in 1893 at the invitation of tea merchant Konstantin Popov. He worked in Adjara for 30 years and made a great contribution to the development of tea culture.

               Lao lived in Adjara with his family - mother, sister and wife and children. His family was very hospitable. They often organized parties and picnics. Guests were  hosted  with  home-cooked meals.
