31 March is the day of the referendum on the restoration of independence in Georgia. Thirty-three years ago, on 31 March 1991, the overwhelming majority of voters in the referendum, which took place during the presidency of Zviad Gamsakhurdia, answered the question positively: "Do you agree with the restoration of Georgia's independence based on the law of 26 May 1918?". The referendum results formed the basis for the declaration of Georgia's independence.
