Amphorae are particularly numerous among the materials found under water. As a means of transporting liquid and dry raw materials, the amphora was at the forefront of both sea and river transport, as its specific shape allowed it to be adapted to the respective conditions. The first row of amphorae, placed on the sloping wall of the ship's hold and buried in the sand layer, supported the following rows. Colchian amphora from the II-III century AD. was found in Choloki Equatoria in the 70s of the last century. The photo shows Kobuleti fishermen pulling an amphora out of the sea. The mentioned amphora is kept in the underwater archaeology exhibition of Batumi Archaeological Museum.
