Model - the first Georgian school in Batumi
On 23 March 1881, the first Georgian school of the The Society for the Spreading of Literacy among Georgians was opened in Batumi. Before the opening of the school, Ilia Chavchavdze came to Batumi and announced the opening of a Georgian school in Batumi to the public.
Aleksandre Naneishvili was appointed the first governor-teacher. He was then replaced by Mose Natadze and then Mikhako Sharashidze.
Divine law, the Georgian language, the Russian language, arithmetic, visual learning, pure writing, church chanting , and gymnastics were taught at the school.
The Model is kept in the Ilia Chavchavadze Museum.
