Colchis was counted among countries of monetary civilization. Both local and international coins circulated in the region. Primarily noteworthy are electrum Cyzicenes. In Transcaucasia so far have been found only three samples, all in Pichvnari. Discovered coins belong to the first half of the fifth century. One of them depicts the goddess of victory Nike, knelt down on her left knee (kept at National Museum of Georgia). The second coin depicts a man with long beard and a fish tail, Triton (kept at Ajara Museum – Batumi Archaeological Museum). The third coin shows nymph Cleta (kept at Ajara Museum- Batumi Archaeological Museum)
